2025 IBI/CBEN BIOCHAR ACADEMY

The 2025 Circular Bio-nutrient Economy Network (CBEN) Biochar Academy took place in East Africa in June 2025, bringing together participants from across the continent for a multi-day education and capacity-building program. The event, organized in partnership with the International Biochar Initiative (IBI), featured a 5-day academy on biochar business development. The final two days also served as the CBEN Conference, highlighting agronomic applications of nutrient and carbon recovery systems. The event provided different entry points for learning and networking, with options for full 5-day participation or a focused 2-day conference for those working on broader nutrient recovery strategies.
